Author’s Note - November 2025
The third edition of The Hidden Camino marks a new chapter for this work. It is not a disruption but a deepening. It's a chance to bring the story to its true conclusion: healing what was uncovered and walking toward wholeness, compassion, and our shared human heritage.
My intention for this edition is simple: to close the circle with integrity and to continue the dialogue about how story, culture, and memory can help us grow as a world community.
Thank you for your patience and for the kindness so many of you have shown during this process. Your trust means everything.
With that spirit of transparency and care, I also want to briefly address what happened earlier this year.Earlier this year, unauthorized editions of The Hidden Camino and several unrelated German-language titles appeared online under my name.
These listings were not created or approved by me. Amazon has now confirmed my authorship and removed all fraudulent editions.
I want to thank my readers for their patience, trust, and messages of support during this process. Your encouragement has meant more than words can say.
Verified information about my work, including updates about the third edition of The Hidden Camino, will always be announced here at louisesommer.co and through my official author newsletter.
Thank you for supporting authentic creative work and for walking this path with me.

A Journey Through Story, Culture, and the Intelligence We Forgot
Part personal journey, part cultural excavation, The Hidden Camino is Louise Sommer’s bestselling book — now being reimagined in a powerful third edition with a new ending and updated insights.
Originally released in 2014 (with a second edition in 2016), the book offers a bold, research-informed narrative that weaves together travel, cultural memory, and the often-unspoken histories of women. Yet this is not a typical pilgrimage memoir. It is a layered exploration of how our social structures and cultural narratives - particularly around gender, leadership, and intelligence - have been shaped, mythologised, and sometimes misunderstood through time.
Set along the ancient Camino de Santiago, The Hidden Camino invites readers into a deeper, more symbolic understanding of how story forms identity and how reconnecting with cultural memory can restore a sense of wholeness and belonging.
This book is for you if you’ve ever wondered:
-
Who gets to write history, and what stories are left untold?
-
What happens when emotional, social, and cultural intelligence are overlooked in our models of leadership?
-
How personal story can become a tool for remembering and renewal?
-
How this awareness could transform our choices today?
Blending memoir, scholarship, and narrative psychology, The Hidden Camino is both accessible and intellectually rich. It speaks to creatives, educators, researchers, and anyone ready to explore identity, memory, and meaning through a cultural lens.
